Trout House Guiding Co offer day trips for individuals or 2 person parties. A typical day trip involves an early start with a pick up from your accommodation here in Taupo then travel to our designated river. The particular river we fish is dictated by time of season and weather at the time. Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Each client will receive an SD card with still photos and short video clips of your day on the water. Anglers are returned to their chosen accommodation late afternoon/evening. All licences to fish with us are also provided.

Multi day or heli trips are available upon request.

Anglers are more than welcome to bring their own gear if they desire however we also have a full range of the latest gear from Vision Fly Fishing.  Rods, reels and wading boots etc available for use at no extra cost.

Our back country season runs from the 1st of October to 31st May. Which coincides with our summer here in New Zealand. Summer in our back country rivers and streams means dry fly action! 5-6wt rods, long leaders and big terrestrial dry flys, you won't find a more visual fly fishing experience. 

A reasonable level of fitness is a bonus and will make your experience much more enjoyable. Being a true back country experience, we very rarely utilise walking tracks. Steep hills, forging our way through native forests is the norm when accessing our chosen rivers and streams.
